1960s vintage Dalescraft teak coffee table manner of Grethe Jalk .
Grethe Jalk designed a very similar teak coffee table for the Danish maker of France + Son c 1960 , but this is a British version of equal quality by the small maker of Dalescraft . Malcolm David Walker the owner and designer for Dalescraft was greatly influenced by Danish design , and their pieces were retailed by Heals and similar retailers in the UK who would have stocked and sold Danish pieces in the early to mid 1960s . We assume that the Dalescraft pieces would have retailed at less than the equivalent Danish piece .
We’ve given this lovely table a light clean followed by a polish , so it’s now looking as good as it would have done when new . It’s probably rarer than the original Grethe Jalk design , but as when new it’s cheaper than the France + Son one today .
NOT THIS ONE WHICH IS OFF TO THE FAR EAST , BUT ANOTHER ONE WHICH HAS ALSO BEEN CLEANED AND RE-POLISHED .
