Dalescraft teak 60s sideboard in Gunni Omann style .
This lovely sideboard by the small quality firm of Dalescraft dates to the early 1960s . At first glance most people would think it was actually Danish . The handles are similar to those on Gunni Omann sideboards , the shape of the top is a Danish detail , as are the open drawers to the interior .
The Dalescraft label is 1 clue ! Its exactly 6.5 ft long ( 198 cms ) . Danish internal drawers are birch ,sycamore or similar , and these are darker . Its slightly lighter in weight than a Danish one , and the legs are fixed .
Designed by Malcolm David Walker who is known to have designed most of the Dalescraft range . See our blogs about Dalescraft . This model dates to the mid 1960s when Dalescraft were at their peak making Danish style pieces . They were a premium manufacturer in the UK so were more expensive than other makers , but cheaper than their Danish equivalents and equally as stylish . Dalescraft is one of our favourite British makers , and we aim to have the biggest and most varied stock of their pieces in the UK .
