We always have a great stock of well made, stylish Danish armchairs that after some 50 years are still going strong, but just need that touch of Pure Imagination to ready them for use in your home for decades to come. The build quality from the 1950s and 60s in Denmark was usually first class, and this is a typical example.
There were numerous small companies making variations on this style in Denmark in the early to mid 1960s , and as Danes didn’t often go for sets, they’re usually only found singly . However by using complimentary fabrics we can easily find chairs to make a smart group of 2 or more.
Our upholsterer will strip back the chair , cover it in a fire-retardant barrier fabric to crib 5 ( suitable for UK residential and commercial use ) , and then upholster in your choice of fabric . She will charge around £250 for this ( actual price depends on detailing ) , and expect to need around 5 metres of fabric ( we have a good selection of practical quality fabrics on our site ) for which we can get samples sent to you and ordered through us . Or use your own upholsterer , and of course you are welcome to arrange your own fabric to be sent to us also .
As with most Danish chairs and sofas from this period the teak legs unscrew . The arm panels ( nails ) are also teak .
