Fab late 50’s Danish teak sofa. We really love to buy great pieces like this that are by as yet unknown designer and maker as they offer better value than known designs by known makers and are often considerably rarer . The quality of this beautiful sofa is unbeatable and is best described as by a Danish Cabinet Maker as its superior to factory made pieces .
We bought it from the daughter of the original very careful owner who had had it from new via a Danish contact . The wool fabric is probably a later replacement , but if so the work has been done by a top quality upholsterer . The cushions are sprung which is always a sign of quality , as is the detailing seen in the teak frame wherever you look .
In style and construction it dates to the mid to late 1950s and we think you will struggle to find a nicer mid-century sofa on the market in the UK .
