Illum Wikkelso rosewood Capella sofa 3 seat.
The Capella series was Illum Wikkelso’s most successful design . It was designed c1965 for the long standing Danish firm of Eillersen . Its designed to come in to pieces , and with the right elements you can produce single armchairs , 2 , 3 or even 4 seat sofas . It was most commonly made in teak , but also in light oak and solid rosewood as in this one . It came with open arms or leather panelled arms . The original leather cushions were too worn , so we’ve made new cushions in black Melton wool by Abraham Moon to match the original black leather sides which show only slight signs of wear .
The rosewood frames have been cleaned and re-polished so the grain of the wood is seen to best effect .
In one of the photos we’ve shown red cushions to the centre , and as the cushions are zipped its easy to have another set made , and to mix and match colours to give you flexibility and a change from time to time . You can use your own imagination , and have a different colour or cushion to the backs or even choose a pattern , or have cushions patterned on 1 side which can be reversed . The options are endless so create a piece that is unique to you and your decor .
WE ALSO HAVE THIS DESIGN IN TEAK WITH OPEN ARMS , HAVING ENOUGH PIECES TO CREATE A SOFA AND CHAIRS
