Rare Kosta of Sweden glass decanter by Vicke Lindstrand c1960
Designed by the prolific and talented Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta of Sweden its model number is LH1520 so it will have first been produced in 1959 when Kosta was at it’s peak and well before it merged with Boda to become Kosta Boda in the early 1970s .
The striations that you’ll see in the green glass body will be in the glass manufacturing and only really show up under our strong lighting . It’s got the engraved maker and model number that you’d expect to find on a piece made in the late 1950s or early 1960s .
There are no obvious signs of it having been used as its very clean inside .
Its 30cms high . LH1520 doesn’t appear in the Kosta catalogue , so it may only have been made for a short period , although a similar clear decanter is shown as LH1551
