Scarce set of 3 Vicke Lindstrand mid 1950s Kosta glass solifleur vases
Vicke Lindstrand was one of Sweden’s top mid-century glass designers at a time when Orrefors and Kosta were at the vanguard of glass design . Having worked for Orrefors in the 1930s , Victor ” Vicke Lindstrand ” joined their rivals Kosta in the early 1950s after a spell at the ceramic company Upsala Ekeby . In the mid to late 1950s he produced an amazing array of successful designs for Kosta including these cased vases in 3 different colours , all of which are represented in this group which we have gradually assembled .
The model number is LH 1057 which were first shown in the 1955/56 Kosta catalogue . As they are hand-blown each is slightly different in height . We have 3 colours all of which are around 27.5cms , as well as a second slightly smaller red one .
We’re selling the 3 that are the same height as a group for £500 , and the second red one at £175 , or all 4 together at £650 . All are marked and numbered for Kosta and will date to the mid to late 1950s .
