Arne Vodder designed this comfortable dining chair in 1956 along with a variant using cane panels . It first appeared in 1957 France & Daverkosen catalogue , just before they became France & Son . Like all great designs in still looks fresh and modern today .
The backs swivel to suit the sitters position . They are currently upholstered in their original worn black vinyl , but our price includes re-upholstery in customers own fabric . This re-upholstery will include placing a thin layer of foam in the seats and backs as they would have had originally . After 40 years of use the foam starts to deteriorate and needs replacing .
Arne Vodder is one of the great names of Danish mid-century furniture design , and if you want to know more there is a great website dedicated to his designs , so go to arnevodder.dk . For an extremely informative blog about France & Son , go to mcminteriors.blogspot.co.uk
The chairs are fully labelled . They came with the Hvidt & Molgaard dining table also by France & Son shown in 1 of the photos .
