Robert Heritage was one of the most successful British furniture designers of the mid 20th century , and he then went on to teach following generations as professor of furniture design at the Royal College of Art from 1974-85 . There is a very good blog about his designs and career on the excellent made-good website .
This lovely set of chairs looks great in its original yellow gold velvet , but the webbing needs replacing after nearly 50 years , and the fabric may not meet current UK fire regulations so our price includes re-upholstery in your choice of fabric ( but not the fabric ! ) .
As with all Heritage’s designs they have been really well though out with comfort a priority , but with the added virtue that they’re extremely stylish .
