Three great Mid-Century Scandinavian teak sideboards we’ve never had before
We’re always looking to source great quality Scandinavian pieces we’ve never had before , so it’s nice to find 3 long teak sideboards that are new to us in a short period of time . We’ve also been lucky and found a lovely Danish Dyrlund sideboard in the manner of Arne Vodder and have another great Danish teak sideboard arriving later this week . We can go for months and only find standard models . So if you’re looking for that stand-out Mid-Century piece of furniture keep an eye on our 2 websites .
The Mogens Kold one is a model we’ve not managed to find anywhere online . The Knud Nielsen one is a model that turns up from time to time , and the Norwegian one by Nordas is also quite rare from what we can see . All are beautifully made at a time when Scandinavian cabinet making was top notch with plenty of skilled craftsmen able to produce great pieces . As prices are rising for good British sideboards some Scandinavian ones are starting to look great value as they’re much rarer and generally more stylish and just that step up from the best of British . They were more expensive back in the day partly due to import taxes , and partly as they would have cost more to produce in the first place .
Other nice teak sideboards are on their way including a rare short Richard Hornby design for Fyne Ladye Furniture .
If you have any Scandinavian teak furniture or good quality British then let us know as we’re buying pieces all over the UK . Recent pick-ups have been in London , Liverpool , Lancashire , Cumbria and the south coast . We may not always make an offer , but will try to advise if you do send photos of pieces that you have for sale .
